The Alaska Airlines Terminal 6 Redevelopment at Los Angeles International Airport was a 200,000-square-foot, multi-phase modernization of the existing terminal focused on improving passenger facilities, operational performance, and supporting infrastructure while maintaining continuous airport operations. The redevelopment encompassed areas within the Terminal 6 Concourse, Satellite, and Satellite Extension, including passenger holdrooms, gate areas, lounge spaces, and associated operational facilities. Extensive phasing was required to complete improvements within an active terminal serving multiple airlines.

CMI provided complete design-build HVAC services for the redevelopment, including temporary and permanent mechanical systems, custom air-handling units, ductwork modifications, baggage handling support, TSA screening areas, dedicated IT room cooling, and upgrades to existing terminal infrastructure. Innovative air-handling unit designs were developed to address space and structural weight constraints within the existing facility, while detailed planning and coordination helped integrate new mechanical systems with existing infrastructure and maintain terminal functionality throughout construction.
