Black Oak Hall and Kwíila Dining at Cal State San Marcos comprise an approximately 139,000-square-foot student housing and dining development designed to expand on-campus living and strengthen the residential student experience. The seven-story Black Oak Hall provides 555 beds across 285 residential rooms, while the adjoining two-story Kwíila Dining adds approximately 10,000 square feet of dedicated dining space. The development also incorporates student gathering and social spaces throughout the residential community.
CMI completed design-build work for the new construction project, supporting the commercial kitchen and dining hall, student housing offices, residential rooms, faculty apartments, and student lounges. Designed with LEED Gold sustainability goals, the project combines housing, dining, and community spaces within a high-performance campus environment built to support CSUSM’s growing residential population.
