Ford Factory

The Ford Factory at 7th and Santa Fe transformed a 271,000-square-foot historic industrial complex in Los Angeles’ Arts District into a modern mixed-use destination. Originally developed for Ford automobile production, the property consists of three interconnected buildings, including a five-story factory, a two-story assembly building, and a former materials warehouse. The adaptive reuse introduced creative office space on the upper floors, retail and restaurant uses at street level, and an adjacent five-level parking structure while preserving the historic character of the complex. The project achieved LEED Gold certification.

CMI completed the HVAC installation supporting the development’s office, retail, restaurant, and shell-and-core tenant areas. The mechanical systems included packaged rooftop air-handling units with VAV reheat systems, providing flexible climate control to accommodate the varied requirements of the commercial spaces throughout the complex.
